Projects

Design, permitting, and project delivery in action.

Florida projects, the permits behind them, and the timelines they had to hit.

Featured Project

Permitting seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line, cleared before the build window closed.

Captiva Island, FL  ·  Single-family residence  ·  CCCL exemption

The challenge

A single-family residence on Captiva needed its septic tank and drainfield placed seaward of the 1991 Coastal Construction Control Line. With an upcoming construction obstacle: marine turtle nesting season runs May 1 through October 31, so a slow determination would have collided with nesting restrictions and stalled the build until the next year.

What Blue Arc did

Evaluated the work against the CCCL exemption criteria and confirmed it qualified as a minor utility installation with no adverse coastal effect. Built the exemption package complete on the first pass and filed it within one week of being brought on, then carried the file through FDEP review with no second round of requests.

The result

FDEP issued the exemption two to four weeks after submittal, inside the pre-nesting window. The contractor mobilized on schedule and the residence finished construction with zero permit-driven interruption. No rejections, no nesting-season obstructions, no construction delays.

Coastal · Benthic Survey

Opening-day benthic survey, no seagrass in the footprint

A Boca Grande dock permit needed an FDEP benthic survey inside a once-a-year window. We were in the water on day one and cleared the footprint.

A signed environmental baseline in three days

A 10.6-acre DeSoto County parcel had unknown wetlands and old disturbances. We ran a full field ESA and signed the report in three days.
